Vacuum tube collector - Heat Pipe System |
The collector is the same „vacuum tube“ like in a thermosiphon system: They are made up of rows of parallel, transparent glass tubes. Each tube consists of a glass outer and glass inner tube. The inner tube is covered with a selective coating that absorbs solar energy well but inhibits radiative heat loss. The air is withdrawn ("evacuated") from the space between the two glass tubes to form a vacuum, which eliminates conductive and convective heat loss. | | What does “Heat Pipe” mean? A heat pipe is a device that can quickly transfer heat from one point to another: The vacuum tube inhibits a copper pipe with a fast condensing liquid medium. The collector acts as a „Heat Pipe“ and is transfering the heat to the collector circuit. This circuit inhibits a heat exchanger - a series of stainless steel or copper coils submerged in the water storage tank. It transfers heat from the collector circuit to the water in the storage tank. This tank is connected to the household water supply. This means there are two circuits: The collector circuit and the water supply circuit. | | - Tank sizes from 200 to 2000 litres - Our heat pipes and well insulated tanks can supply every hot water demand for: Hotels / Hospitals / Industry - We give 10 years warranty on our heat pipes and on our tanks! | Here an example with the main installation features: | | | |
