Sunlabob wins tender to supply Solar Systems for District Health Facilities in Timor-Leste

In June 2011, Sunlabob won an international tender to supply and install Solar Energy Systems for District Health Facilities under the Ministry of Health in Timor-Leste.

The project is financed under a grant from International Development Association and Australian Agency for International Development (AusAid); and administered by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Each Sunlabob Solar Energy System meets international quality standards and comprises a DC refrigerator, solar panel, PV mounting structure, battery, charge controller, circuit breaker, inverter and 5 lamps.

The systems are to be used in health facilities, in areas where there is no connection to the power grid, to store vaccines and keep medical supplies sterile. Such systems allow doctors to provide much-needed vaccines to residents in inaccessible areas.

The operation covers more than 13 districts in remote areas across Timor-Leste, and will be carried out in collaboration with a local partner.
