Why choose a Solar Energy System?
If you are located in a remote area without a grid connection, you may need a diesel generator to power your load. These generators need a lot of fuel, maintenance, and their lifetime is limited. Electric power by diesel engines is also very expensive. It costs 1 US$ per litre for diesel so you pay 60 cent per kWh. Moreover, fuel prices are rising quickly! If you consider maintenance costs and reinvestment for a new engine, you pay at least 70 cent/kWh! Meanwhile, a solar energy system is not only a cost competitive option but also cheaper in the long run. Assuming a minimum lifetime of 25 years for the solar panels, your energy costs during this period will be about 50 cent/kWh - and you don’t have to worry about rising fuel prices! If you do not have access to grid-power, a Solar Energy System is cheaper than any other form of energy.
What is a Solar Energy System?
A Solar Energy System consists of the following components:
- Solar panels that deliver electricity from the sun
- A battery set that stores the electricity produced by the solar panel and can deliver it at any time of the day.
- A charge controller that protects the battery from overcharging.
A Solar Energy System works all year round, without the need for any other power source. The Battery Set is designed to have at least 5 days autonomy, which means that even if there are five consecutive very cloudy days, the system is still able to work. We offer a variety of sizes from 20 W to 150 W and higher.
