From interns to volunteers to fulltime employees, Sunlabob certainly has a diverse pool of staff with different skill sets, experiences and expertise to bring it to its fullest potential.

Sunlabob: drinking water for all

Safe and clean drinking water is a major problem in many rural Lao villages. Making it safe usually requires boiling, which uses a lot of firewood and charcoal. An effective and affordable solar powered pumping and purification system of water will improve health conditions, free up the workload for getting water for other domestic uses, reduce dependence on firewood and charcoal, limit associated deforestation and CHG emissions.
Sunlabob: our solar lanterns in Uganda

In 2008, Sunlabob launched a south-south business initiative with Ugandan company TSSD. Now solar powered charging stations are operating in a number of remote Ugandan villages. The franchise came about thanks to a prize won at the World Bank Group's Lighting Africa Development Marketplace in 2008.
This proves that Sunlabob has once again spearheaded an innovative approach that has worldwide potential in rural electrification.

Sunlabob: Power to the Poor - The Worldbank Project

The video "Power to the Poor" is a documentary of the Solar Home System project implemented in cooperation with the World Bank. In 2008, Sunlabob won an international tender for a World Bank financed procurement contract, handled locally by the Rural Electrification Office of the Department of Electricity (part of the Ministry of Energy and Mines), to supply 6,560 solar home systems to 14 provinces across Laos.
